The Course

Information Technology in a Global Society (ITGS), is a one year IB class designed to discuss issues related to information technology and how our world is affected by IT. Please be aware that this is NOT a computer class, it is a Social Studies credit and is taught as such. This class will require a significant amount of work outside of the classroom. The most time consuming part of this is the project. The project requires you to create a solution, using IT, to a customer's need. For more on this click the link to the "Project Guide " at the left. We will also be looking at current events, reading from two different texts (Computer Confluence and The Gift of Fire), taking both real and mock ITGS exams and becoming familiar with the many aspects of technology. This class is equivalent in the amount of work required to any other IB class.

The Lessons

The general course outline can be found by clicking the "Lesson Plans" links to the left. This is the program of study I hope to follow for the year. I understand however that this is not a perfect world and that things may change. Hopefully, though, this outline will remain close to what we do throughout the rest of the year.

The Assignments

Assignments can be found by clicking the links in the Lesson Plan page. Should a link not be working, first try to find it yourself if possible. Use logic: Is there a title to the article? Can you find the resource yourself? If all else fails, please email me for the link at abraden@ais-r.edu.sa.
